While the other games covered so far in previous posts were great examples of what their genre’s had to offer, the original Halo trilogy is the peek perfection of the First Person Shooter Genre. Within the Genre typically a game either has great single player and average multiplayer, or vice versa. However, Halo the Master Chief Collection is one of few outliers that has amazing single player story modes and fantastic multiplayer. But what are these games? Well… *deep breath*

IN THIS COLLECTION YOU CONTROL THE MOST BADASS, TRUE HEARTED, AND PURE AWESOMENESS BEING EVER CREATED JOHN DOE or better well know as THE MASTER CHIEF!! HE IS THE LAST OF THE SPARTAN RACE AND WILL STOP AT NOTHING THAT GETS IN HIS WAY!!! *cough* *cough*

He is without a doubt one of the coolest video game characters ever created, and for good reason. The Chief does awesome things in each game and stops at nothing in his path. Whether it be the Covenent in the first 2 games or The Flood in the third game, nothing stops him.

Each game has around 12 missions each jam packed with tons of enemies to fight and kill. *Note* the enemies are all alien creatures that look awesome and constantly try to get you. There are loads of weapons to pick up and have fun with, all while going through a genuinely great story.

The multiplayer is also fantastic. Primarily it consists of team matches, free for all, similarly to many other First Person Shooters. However, the actual game play within Halo is so much fun that it requires real skill and knowledge on how to properly win. Please check this game out! It contains the original Halo trilogy as well as Halo 4 (Which is kinda bland, but the first 3 are great).

If you’ve played these games before, check out my Instagram page and leave a comment on what you love about them. Also if you have any suggestions for upcoming games in the next category of racing I’m all ears. Peace out

Alright now for the really good stuff. If you’ve ever watched an Indiana Jones or National Treasure Movie and said, “hey I wish I could do that stuff in real life” well say no more cause these Uncharted games are for you! Experience thrilling action and adventure controlling Nathan Drake, a great send off to the classic adventure movie character. He’s cunning, suave, sarcastic and best of all heroic, just like classic adventurers.

For anyone who’s never played a third person shooter before these games are a good kick off point. The games being comprised of third person shooting and platforming across dynamic environments that really make Nate feel real. The main core of the game is the third person shooting, giving you a wide variety of guns to stop the main threat of the games. But when it’s time for the platforming get ready for your mouth to drop when you try to understand as to how Nate is able to climb such huge objects and not fall.

Nathan Drake stops at nothing to secure priceless artifacts that don’t belong to certain people. While not each game is created equal (I Personally rank them 2,3,1), each does have a very compelling narrative that makes you want to push forward and continue. The first Uncharted is a little rough around the edges, but the story is what really keeps you going.

Now similar to my post about New Super Mario Bros. this post is encompassing three games in one. It’s kinda cheating, but all three games play fairly similar and it really is like one long journey if you play them all back to back. Fortunately the games take about 7-8 hours to complete making them perfect for quick bursts of game play every now and again. You’ll have a thrilling time while playing them.

So similarly to the previous post, Super Smash Bros is a long running franchise for Nintendo, but with a key difference to the New Super Mario Bros series. Each game in the Smash franchise is totally different from the last. Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 is very clunky, slow, but generally pretty fun. Super Smash Bros Melee improved on everything from the last and made it much more fun to play. Super Smash Bros Brawl is still pretty fun, but lack the competetive aspect of melee. Super Smash Bros on Wii U, improved everything from Brawl and made the game extremely fun again. Come to December 8th 2018, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate is released for Nintendo Switch. Hands down this is the best Smash Bros game to date and one of the most fun fighting games I’ve ever played.

If your unaware of the series, I’ll break it down for you. Super Smash Bros Ultimate is exactly what it says in the title, it’s the ultimate version of Super Smash Bros to date. You fight against other players in a culmination of everything Nintendo. Down to the characters you can play as to the stage you fight on. The goal is simple, knock your opponents off the stage, and win the match. However there’s much more to it than just that.

The greatest aspect of the game is that it’s very easy to play, but difficult to master. With over 70 characters in the roster, it may be intimidating at first to pick a fighter suitable to you. If I had to pick a good beginning character, I’d choose Mario. He’s really easy to control, has a wide array of moves and is generally easy to master. However, that’s not to say anyone else isn’t viable at first. Technically speaking you can choose anyone to play at the start, whether it be Mario or Incineroar.

Overall the game is near perfect for anyone who’s never played a fighting game before and is a ton of fun if you want to pick it up.

New Super Mario Bros. Series

Genre: Platformer

Platforms: All Nintendo DS consoles, Wii,Wii U, Switch

Difficulty in obtaining: Extremely easy to find

Cost: $20-30

ESRB RATING: E

The first game or should I say games on the list are the games from the New Super Mario bros series. While people may scoff at their placement on this list, they truly are some of the easiest to get into games in the platformer genre. There is a total of five games within the series and they all essentially play the same.

Ultimately these games are fun, easy and very accessible for anyone to play. Though there are five games in this series, each one essentially plays the same. With one being on the Nintendo ds, one on the Wii, one on the 3ds, one on the Wii U and one coming up on the Switch, you can find these games extremely easy.

If you’ve new heard of Mario, truly where have you been, but I’ll give you the basic run down of the games. In New Super Mario bros., you control Mario and Luigi as they venture forth throughout the Mushroom kingdom in order to thwart the evil Bowser’s plans and save the princess. By running, jumping and even shooting fire balls, you progress throughout 7 worlds filled with various levels that test your Mario skills. Along the way you’ll receive many different power ups that’ll change the game and make Mario more powerful, but be careful if you get hit, you’ll lose the power and might even get a game over.
